Leah Pruett / Schumacher split - What about Factory Stock?
With this split and the downsizing of Don Schumacher Racing, where does this leave the Don Scumacher Factory Stock program. Leah is most definitely not continuing, does Don:
1) continue the program and replace her with a pay to play driver 2) Dissolve the teams and sell the challengers? 3) Kevin Helms in Leahs challenger ???? I guess we'll see but these cars are more important to me than the piperacks. Anyone in the know? https://www.nhra.com/news/2021/tony-...lltime-entries Last edited by GATOR; 10-15-2021 at 07:59 AM. |

I would not be surprised if Leah and Matt keep their deals with Dodge.
Also I would not be surprised if Tony Stewart Racing gets parts and pieces from Don Schumacher Racing. If all that happens I can see Leah staying in the seat of the Challenger. Pure speculation on my part but I will be staying tuned for future announcements. |

Re: Leah Pruett / Schumacher split - What about Factory Stoc
Long ago I was a Smoke fan but not so much anymore so I won’t be a TSR fan any more than I’ve been a DSR fan (not). NHRA’s has intertwined their entire fate with the Nitro ranks so reluctantly think it’s good that somebody is stepping in to fill the void as the DSR and JFR teams eventually age out. I see that Watson Racing is moving to the Dodge camp so who knows what that means for the DSR / Dodge connection, my only hope is that Kevin is in a good position going forward, he’s a true champion in every sense of the word.
Sorry for offering opinion rather than fact but NHRA’s treatment of PRO vs. Sportsman always seems to draw out my contempt.

Re: Leah Pruett / Schumacher split - What about Factory Stoc
I would be one to love to see Factory Stock replace the current day Pro Stock. I just don't want to see the class morph into an All Camaro field as Pro Stock has. I understand rule disparity trying to keep equality between the 3 manufacturers, but really missing the Mustangs at select events. I do believe all 3 auto manufacturers need representation. Missing the Fords participation at random events and don't want to see the mopar participation diminish.
I do believe Mopar will go with Smoke/Leah/Hagan team which questions the Schumacher based Factory Stock Mopar cars. Fingers crossed mopar steps up the effort and replaces Leah with a passionate somewhat high profile driver that draws fans and not a disconnect like the current trajectory of modern day Pro stock. I am all for parity and let the cream rise to the top. Factory Stock is one of my favorite classes, enjoy ALL the players burning $ to put the show on!! Thanks Guys! |

Yes agree more Pro Stock teams are needed. The NHRA always concentrates on the fuel categories. We need many more factory Hotrods with hood scoops and carbs and no rev limiters. Also Pro Stock truck would be nice and more Mountain motor Pro Stock coverage.

"After four year of competing in Factory Stock Showdown, today’s raceday will be my last drive aboard the DSR-prepared 2021 Dodge Challenger Mopar Drag Pak in competition. I’ve had the most amazing and educating experience working with Dodge, SRT and Mopar on two generations of Challenger Drag Paks. We won the 2018 Factory Stock Showdown championship with the third generation Drag Pak and was blessed to be immersed in the development and launch of the 2021 Dodge Challenger Mopar Drag Pak. I’d love to finish this experience off with a win. Make that a double up win." |

As long as Kevin lands a good spot I’m comfortable with that.
