I had a question on an installation item and I called the help line and got very good help. The wait was worth it.

I have Bob Toy helping, doing a lot, on the wiring. When he is done we will have a blue print of all of the wires in the car. With the print it make it a little easier to troubleshoot. I ordered some parts in an attempt to make some jumper wires.

I did not realize it at the time but my old friend gave me a wonderful gift, a wad of old wiring harnesses. They have come in handy in learning to disassemble and harvest connectors. Thanks you Jeff and the rest of the Southland Dodge Racing Team!

It starts and runs and we will tune it later this week on the dyno. It was a little more nerve racking than I thought. Because if it didn’t run I would have known that I did something wrong. It started so quick it almost scared me, what a nice surprise.

We me and Dumbo had a great day at Robin Lawrence’s Dyno Service. Robin ‘s problem solving skills were on full display all day with enough time to explain to me why and how. After a full day with Robin my head was way past full. Carbs are easier but fuel injectors are way better. Bottom line Robin’s Dyno Service is a great value for time and money spent.
Thanks Robin

They were out of my size, surprise! The one I chose: “I’m a Stock eliminator racer and spend a lot of money to go that slow”.
Cost of my trip
750 miles @ 10 mpg X $4.00 gal average
2 nights in motel
3 days food and drinks
Two full days of dyno time
And as Randy Payne would often say, “Can’t put a price on a good time!”

My advice to anyone going to a dyno: take everything you might need. Most of the stuff you take you’ll never need but if you do you might have what it takes to make the next pull. Plugs, fuel, wires, connectors, first aid kit, tires and wheels, injectors, coils, a few nuts and bolts.

On the road sometimes you see some interesting stuff. West Frankfort Il. has an good 1/8 mile track that has a good Saturday night program. The track can be seen from I 57. To get to the track a lot of racers have to cross a bridge going over I 57. Last night I observed what I think is a serious racer. As I approached the bridge on SB I 57 a tow truck was hooked to a truck pulling an enclosed trailer across the bridge heading to the track. Hope they won enough money to fix the truck.

Got to go the turkey’s are out in the field strutting there stuff.

It was great working with Larry getting his conversion to the Holley EFI sorted out.

The big mistake that I made was assuming since the start up program worked so well we would be able to complete Larry's list of items in short order. As in many cases I am a little too optimistic. I must have made the Mopar gods mad at some point. We were able work through a few small issues and hit the goals we had discussed many months ago.

Larry was the perfect customer as the car was 100% ready to go. He also brought enough parts to work through anything that came up during the time on the rollers. I do think that we changed a sensor or 2 and a set of plugs and a larger set of injectors.

While sorting the car out was the primary goal we spent a fair amount of time analyzing data and getting Larry familiar with the Holley software.

It's my intention to have racers learn from what we do during our session rather than have someone do it for them."

If you are over 40 and new to FI , I would try the snake oil that is advised on TV for memory improvement because my head got full real quick and then suffered from information overload.
