Let us not forget the last US service members killed during the fall of Saigon : Charles McMahon (May 10, 1953 – April 29, 1975) and Darwin Lee Judge (February 16, 1956 – April 29, 1975) were the last two United States servicemen killed in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. The two men, both U.S. Marines, were killed in a rocket attack one day before the Fall of Saigon.

There are 58,267 names on the wall.
39,996 were just 22 or younger. 12 were 17 years old. 5 were 16.
31 sets of parents lost 2 of their sons.
997 were killed on their first day, 1448 were killed on their last day.
244 soldiers were awarded the Medal of Honor during the war and 153 of them are on the wall.

Those losses are the sharp edge to an American tragedy that changed our country forever. Thanks to all my fellow veterans who lived near that sharp edge. To all who never visited the wall, your duty as a citizen is to run your hand across some of those names and reflect on their sacrifices.
