New slicks dish soap rim screws?

So I threw my bracket car together after a 20 year hiatus. Got brand new Mickey Thompson 28 10.5 stiff sidewall tires. Does everyone still lather the inside dish soap? Also still screw the tire to the rim? If not what's the new procedure?
Car is 36xx# and 600 650hp Jerico trans if it matters

I don't put rim screws in my wheels and I don't do anything to the tires. I do try to put them on dry if possible

I think 28x10.5 stiff's will rotate on the rim without rim screws or gluing, especially with a stick and heavy car.. I used the Dawn and rim screws and had to seal a couple of screws with silicone to keep the leakage down. They'll hold pressure for weeks.

I would put screws in and would also have a set of tubes on hand to try if you need to.

Believe it or not but Hair spray works instead of screws!! My AA/stocker and big tire bracket car w about 700hp and 3 k# !!!

Never used soap or screws on a 650ish HP bracket car. 3200# and a stick. Some tires just hold air and others don't. My Goodyears were great, Hoosiers seem okay and M/T's not so good with 1 tire being worse than the other. Unless you have a tire machine and balancer handy (I don't) then doing a back to back comparison isn't reasonable.

As for screws... I put my tires on dry and find that all three brands move about an inch and then stop. Pretty sure rim selection makes a difference here. If you run tubes then you need screws otherwise the valve stem will tear off the tube when the tire turns.

Using dawn dishwashing liquid soaking inside helps with leakage I'm not sure about stiff sidewalls w a stick I always use standard bias ply I know the radials won't work w a stick

For the M/T leakage I tried different brands of Dishwashing soap & also slime. Neither did the trick. Still weeped through the sidewalls. The only thing that sealed them right up was the "original" Coca-Cola(Thanks Don). Poured it on the sides,rubbed it in and let them sit in the sun. Turn over and repeat. Mounted up and no leakage.

My 10.5 x 29.5S C07 Hoosiers do not leak at all with nothing done on the inside.

I have been unable to stop the tire from moving on the rim without screws. Tried dry, Aqua-net hairspray and weatherstrip adhesive. Swapped them and they just repeated the other way. My latest effort is Permatex High Tack brush-on. Do not know if that will do it. I have heard that knurled rims will sometimes do the trick.

I believe the main problem is my old Motorwheel Flys because I know of people with the same class car, with more modern rims that do not use screws and there is no tire movement.

I would also say it may be the Fly's,just like the old Supertricks.Also I would be leery of using any kind of glue/sealer as it may "weld" the tire to the rim,and make it hard to remove the tire later.Those rims are flimsy and you don't want to bend or crack one!...gsa612
