Re: Car Name Memories
Marty,I'm from there and ran those Winston races in the 70's,can't find any pictures. Here's a trip down memory lane, back then a guy from here (Arron S.) bought your Olds stick car (Dream Weaver). He had a hard time with the stick and parked it.He moved out west in the 80's and lost track of him.I don't remember what he did with the car....gsa612

Re: Car Name Memories
Aaron Steen and Darah Gusul bought that car. They were here in Regina. That car was also used in a billboard add for a government insurance seatbelt encouragement program. Gus (Darah Gusul) has since passed away and I’m not sure where Steen went. Calgary seems to ring a bell but not certain. Ervin Mitchel was also a good friend of Gus and may have a better recall what became of that car. I see Ervin from time to time and will ask him.

Re: Car Name Memories
"Great Expectations", Jim and Alison Lee's car(s). Alison and my sister were best friends. Alison asked if I wanted to go a race with them in 1962. They were racing a 39 Plymouth gasser with an Olds engine with six 2's to start with then moved to a gas dragster and then on to a series of Ed Pink powered dragsters. I met all the big racers of the time through them and have been hooked ever since. Alison made Jim quit driving after he rolled the gas dragster at Atco (I believe). Then Lee Edwards drove for them for awhile and I think Hilton was driving when they gave up the circuit. Hilton married their daughter and I believe their son is doing something in the business now.
