Default Funny TPS readings ...

My data logger on my fast system shows my TPS is not at 100% during some of my bad runs. The O 2 reading will show very very lean when this happens. Can I get a new stock TPS from parts store and put on?

If it is GM I am pretty sure you can pick that up at the parts house. What system are you running? Pull it off the throttle body and see if the plastic is all chewed up. If it is loose and vibrating going downtrack you will get erratic readings and that will be detrimental to the performance, especially in Alpha N mode.

I would recommend using an OEM TPS sensor. What is the application? Have you learned the tps sensor?

I just bought a TPS. Do I just install it or as you say do I have to calibrate it or learn it? Your car was flying in St. Louis.

Anytime you change a sensor you definitely want to calibrate it.

Easiest way I know, is to slot the little screw holes in the TPS, so it can be rotated like an earlier year model adjustable TPS.
I have not had one fail to show 100% Throttle Angle, if the Throttle Body is opening all the way, against the stop. Don’t buy your sensors at Autozone. Use genuine AC Delco, or NAPA.

Most newer EFI systems have a TPS calibration procedure in them. Heck, my old Haltech I used to run back in the early 90's had a way to calibrate the sensor.
