Default Abbreviated Class Elims?

Just a suggestion that may work for either the Sportsnationals or Indy. What if NHRA did an abbreviated Class Elimination where after 2 rounds of Qualifying they pair up the fastest 2 qualified in each class, or combo, for a 1 round elimination set to take place during what would be the 3rd qualifying shot for everyone?
This might have been bounced around or tried before. But it gives a little race within a race while not adding rounds.

Not really. RFC has the qualifying sheets, we know who the fastest 2 qualified in each class are then. Just do an auto and stick combo as well. Shoot, we can pair up ourselves. They just need to parent it.

You must think you have one of the 2 fastest car.
Hmmmmm. I believe it’s been explained clas is not happening
Also Indy is fastest car wins class. That’s how it’s done
Everyone plays or nobody plays.

No, I don't think I have one of the fastest cars, I just am trying to think of a way to add some zest without adding time to the program. I know it's a tight schedule as it stands.

What's the problem with pairing up every class on the first time trial. If you loose in the round you get to still make the next time trial just not in your class. BP
