Those Rearends are one of the more significant reasons that drove
me to switch to racing Mopars back in those days!

I am thinking 66 to 71 B Body.

BUT: I would sneak in a 57 to 64 Pontiac as it much
less conspicuous. I raced two 57 Corvettes and once
busted the stock rear end climbing the ramps on my
ramp truck to go to Lions!

Cool Re: 55-64 Chevy rear

You are better off swapping in a 12 bolt and selling all that early rear end stuff to some collector/restorer. I wrote the book on how to bust one up with a 348 4 speed car I had in the mid 70's. Back then they were pretty cheap. I even blew one up in my 57 Nomad that I had with a stock 327 and a 4 speed. Good riddance to all that.

I used those old Pontiac rear ends for years and years. Even had one in our old '27 Ford Roadster that we ran in S/G in the 80's.
However, I think gear sets are hard to come by for those things now days.
