1/4 or 1/8 mile SGMP
What do you think???
Last year it was 105 in my pit. It was Hot!!!!!! So I was thinking wouldn't it be better to run the 1/8 mile to save on equipment. If we can get enough people who think this is a good idea we can swithch it for this summer race. I spoke to Jim Wahl he said to check with everyone to see what you all think. Just for this race ONLY!!!! Lets vote!!!!! Jay |

Re: 1/4 or 1/8 mile SGMP
I haven't run an 1/8 mile race in over 2 years.
With my car I have to shift just before the 1/8 mile marker so racing it it hard for me. Need one eye on the tach and another in the back of my head looking for the competition. I think the heat should make it easier on the cars because they will make less power. Traction might be a problem but that track usually hooks. I vote quarter mile.

I would rather race 1/4.
I just hope hope I'm still working at home, so I can go there. I may be having to go to Rock Hill SC in 2 or 3 weeks...

Since it is the warm time of yr., why not make it a night race ? That was brought up before..... They have good lighting there.

Re: 1/4 or 1/8 mile SGMP
I actuall prefer the 1/8 mile. Its just alot easier on the engine. All of the fun is the start and finish anyway. My .02
