Re: Dumbo The Flying Elephant
Well our team, granddaughter, lost in the finals of the Kentucky girls basketball championship. Her team was very good but the winner was better. For her and most of the team there is next year.
Now I can get back to work on Dumbo. I have to admit it was fun being in Kentucky at tournament time. It made me forget about not getting into the Gators do to not having the correct expectation date on the credit card while using a transfer.

LOL, I can relate. I pre lubed my FE on the engine stand a week ago, brand new Milodon pan leaked at the drain plug which was as tight as I thought it should be. Also with valve covers off once oil comes through the rocker shafts it floods the top of the motor even with restrictors and runs out down the sides of the block faster than you can clean it up.
Were you having leaks or just over flow?

Above the oil filter on the block there are two 3/8 NPT plugged holes. Bottom one goes to the filter and crank driven oil pump and the top one is the passage the the oiling system. I use a three gallon viton seal bug spray to pressurize the system the system. The mess occurres when the hose is disconnected and the plug is installed with my left hand.

Melling makes a great oil primer. Larry, no matter on fast you are with the pipe plug, it is always a mess, especially the first time before you realize what happens.

Charlie Daniels
I spent a better part of a day looking for some body parts that I put up to keep dust off of them. I tore the car apart after Indy and just now putting it back together. Sometimes I forget where I put stuff, just another stupid old man trick. I will not get much done this weekend 'cause it March Madness! Its the best of college sports on TV.
I got a lot done today. If everything goes well we should be smelling smoke latter this week. As y'all can see I till have a lot of cleanup to do on getting the wires looking better. It's a real pain to get the valve cover off on the passenger's side just to check valve lash. Headers have to go on in an assigned order. Believe it or not I can get 10 O2's on the car and only have to install one in the pipe before installing the pipe on engine.
I took a picture of the oil filer base with the two plugs that make a mess when I fumble them. Me and the air inlet almost look eye to eye

Re: Dumbo The Flying Elephant
Larry, I expect you to get many things done this week since your Favorite college BB team lost Sunday. Perhaps DUMBO will be out soon .?

Re: Dumbo The Flying Elephant
Indy Pts race end of April. Maybe in FSS/F, it makes the tires think they’re bigger.

If two identical air temp sensors vary 3 degrees would I need to change the offset to make the ECU supply the engine with identical A/F and spark of the previous run?
Now that I’ve thought about it a faulty O2 could cause all kind of headaches.

Larry don't forget the 2 coil drivers, our's went bad after 3 years and we replaced every sensor before replacing the coil drivers which fixed the hot misfire and no start problem. Main harness also developed an open which would shut the engine off at the hit.
