Default Low sulfur diesel fuel

With the low sulfur diesel fuel currently available does any one add anything to the fuel to increase lubrication and increase mileage? I have heard due to the low sulfur and lubrication properties addatives are required. Towing with a 300hp cat in FL.

Here in WV we have had a lot of pluged fuel filters from 'geling' of the new fuel, they tell me you need to run a additive, I have been useing amsoil and have had great luck with it.

I've been told by multipule people and read a topic on drr about using ATF or 2-cycle. I guess it lubricates well and improves mileage.

If one mixes atf or 2-cycle, that will change the color (I would think) so would add a trace to make the DOT think there was a trace of off road fuel, that could make for a costly ticket. Other than that Id say it would work good.

I too thought of this. For 1 I think you only add 1 quart of ATF per 25 gal of fuel so I don't think it would discolor it too bad. Also, I think before they could give you a ticket they would have to test it, especially if you claimed it was ATF or 2-cycle. I don't know?

I've been burning it since it hit the pumps and I haven't seen any difference except the PRICE.
Temps are the same and so is mpg - 7 with the trailer and 9 with out.
Last year I burned a few thousand gallons.

Chuck,
I change all my filters every 10K miles, maybe you got some bad fuel.
