Default Powerglide V8 Gear set

Was given a powerglide that has been sitting around. Needed just the case but decided to open up just for grins and smiles. Found a stock v8 gear set which is all i run anyway. problem is that the trans must have sat outside for sometime, about half of the gear set is rusted. I can't get it to spin. Is there anyway to clean this such as glass bead or acid dip or something that won't destroy it?? Thanks for the info.

Default Re: Powerglide V8 Gear set

I would try to bead blast it first with about 90 PSI and stay back from it about 6" to try and dust off the rust. I might have a stock set of 1.76 gears and pins if you need them let me know, Mike
