Preserving History & Charlotte
But ran into former NHRA VP Graham Light who “retired” last year. Apparently he was slumming, but as he related, it’s tough to just walk away when your whole life has been attending 24 national events a year besides whatever office work was a part of his life.

Re: Preserving History & Charlotte
It was a good call. A better call would have been to eliminate one round of pro qualifying and start the sportsman elimination rounds earlier. Racing from 6 am to midnight is not reallly a safe thing to do. I know I would not have been any good in the late rounds if I was luck enough to get there. Everyone should share in the issues when it comes to inclement weather. I don’t know why the pros need 4 Q rounds for a 4 round race.

Maybe the NHRA "executives" should find a way to support the legacy of the sport. Wally Parks is rolling in his grave.

So a few extra points here n there could in fact effect your point total. If they only have 3 qualifiers than make it 3 All year long. Kinda hard to do it in the countdown.

Re: Preserving History & Charlotte
No, but the sportsman racer needs to be self-aware of our place in the food chain. It would be amazing that it isn't 100% clear to any of them in October 2019.
If the weather is good on Saturday, a LOT of spectators are going to be angry that they only got one nitro Q session when there were two on the schedule. That they got bonus sportsman racing isn't smoothing it over.
