Default Indy Traffic Woes

I went over to Lucas Oil Raceway yesterday for some bracket racing, wanted to post this up to warn everyone prior to the biggest race of the year. There is a 15 mile stretch of I-74 near Batesville that is one lane each direction, going west in the morning was no problem, but heading east in the evening slowed to a crawl. God help us if a semi blows a tire in that area, as you are in between two concrete walls. Then I see I-465 north is closed at 74, which appeared to be no problem as I went south, and I could see traffic going north and getting on 74 east. After a day at the track I'm back on the southeast section of 465, but they had moved the barriers all the way down to I-65 north, which was the only option and all the traffic had to go thru town. Took about an hour to get to I-70 east, back to 465, then east on 74. Then the slowdown going east, not fun! Wish I had checked artimis or google maps before I went home and came up with a backup plan.

Also, the Eagle Creek bridge on Dandy Trail has been closed since April, and it won't reopen until November. Anyone on Dandy Trail heading towards Crawfordsville Rd. will have to detour before the bridge.

Have they completed the construction on I65 north yet? It's been like 10 years of construction!

There is constant construction but the roads never seem to get any better.

Wow, seriously? They had been working on that for about 20 years when I moved away in the mid-90s! Incredible that it's still going on. I always figured there were lots of kick-backs keeping that project alive.
