Bill Gerald 80th Birthday Today

Today is Bill Gerald's 80th Birthday. My Dad's best friend for the past 50+ years, one hell of a nice guy and a great stick shift drag racer as well. Here are a few pics of Bill's multi time K/S National Record holding, multiple time even winning car. Best I can tell, both pics were taken at Tri-City Dragway near Saginaw, MI back in the day...Bill still has this car and it is roughly 60% of the way restored back to being a BBC street cruiser for him and his wife.

I don't believe that Bill is on classracer, but I will send him this link to see all the messages I am sure this thread will get.

Happy Birthday Bill Gerald glad to hear you still have your Chevelle and you are restoring it. I remember your and a dark blue 68 Chevelle convertible I think his name was Phil he was from Kentucky I believe both were k/s cars . Anyway have a great day !

I think the blue Chevelle was Phil Lacy,he ran K and L...gsa612

That was him, I couldn't remember Phil's last name I haven't seen Phil in a long time I assume he retired from racing.

Phil brought the blue Chevelle convertible out here and was runner up at the Winternationals with it. Probably1982 or so. Back then, the convertible was a K L car, the hardtop was a J K car. with the 250 horse 327.
