Default Results from Kil Kare Dragway Buckeye S/SS

From the Gathering of the Geezers event at Kil Kare Dragway on August 17th.

There were a total of 41 cars that came to race with the Buckeye S/SS Drag Racing Series. Many came hoping to get a win or runner up to get into the Shootout. Others came hoping to get enough points to get into the Championship Shootout to determine the 2019 Series Champion.

The first run down the 1320 found the '69 Camaro A/SA car of David McIntosh taking the Mid Ohio Paving Dial for Dollars money with a run of 10.610 on his 10.60 dial.

#1 Qualifier was Danny Smith in his Hemi Belvedere with a .006 light to win the VP Fuels $50 Certificate. With the odd number of cars he was also the recipient of a first round bye.

Parsons & Myers Best First Round Losing Package was won by David McIntosh with a .0460 package beating out Matt Antrobus' .061 package.

The KB Trailer Sales Buckeye Bounty Hunter was on the head of the Dragway 42 second day winner Jeff Ross. The Bounty money did not get used until the third round when Jeff Ross went red against the Mustang of Jerry Rowe awarding Rowe the Buckeye Bounty Hunter $100.

Also for this race Mike Rook and John Stock wanted to place a bounty on the runner up from the DW42 race 2 .That would be the Hemi Satellite of Jeff Jones. Jones lasted until the semi final round against Tim Titchnell and the Firebird driver took the $100.

Moving to the semi final round Mike Schaeffer had the Bye into the final and took the tree for the round. The other paring was Jeff Jones "Hemi Headache" Plymouth N/SS car against the SS/BS Firebird of Tim Titchnell. Leaving first Jeff Jones was early and lit up the red light . Titchnell was .025 on the tree and was 9.295 on his 9.25 dial.

The final round matchup of the '68 Hemi Dart of Mike Schaefer dialed 8.99 paired up with a 9.29 dial of Titchnell. Schaefer gave chase with a .042 light to the .037 light of Titchell. Both drivers were only .01 over their dial in Schaefer ran 9.0013 on his 8.99 and Titchnell was 9.3081 on his 9.29 dial. The margin of victory was .0038. What an awesome final round.

This event was our last event of the 2019 Season. The next order of business will be the 2019 Buckeye Stock/SuperStock Championship Shootout to detirminie the 2019 Champion. This will be held at the NHRA Sportsnationals at National Trail Raceway the weekend of Sept. 20-22nd.
