Re: Dumbo The Flying Elephant
I must be lucky. Pulled the passenger seat to check my connection on all the wires under the seat and found none of them loose but the power wire on a relay was off. I’m not sure when it came off but it was off. I’ll spend the rest of the day checking stuff and changing oil and filter.

Re: Dumbo The Flying Elephant
Had time this week to give Dumbo a bath and install the missing decals. Loaded the car and the golf cart in the trailer for testing. I didn’t make it I was to tired to go. This getting old is not for the meek.

Re: Dumbo The Flying Elephant
Getting the Feather Lite ready to go testing. With front cabinets, golf cart, and Dumbo you have to be a contortionist to tie everything down. I did get a cheep oil less air compressor that the little Gen set could handle. Truck and trailer with a small ice chest a few waters a Coke or two and a sandwich or two. I will be race ready.
Getting the parts and pieces gathered for next year’s engine.
Dear Santa,
I have been good most of the year and the only thing I want for Christmas is a little time. So please bring me a .2 of a second reduction of my quickest time this year and I be will be very happy.
We will leave milk and cookies and some of Kentucky’s finest to help keep your noise red.

Re: Dumbo The Flying Elephant
Their are a lot of really smart people out there who are willing to help. Case in point. I was doing a really poor job in driving Dumbo. In fact we had yet to win a round of competition outside of Class and 97%of the losses were poor driver performance. I had driven the Cuda so long that I would make the 1/2 shift way to soon. Joel’s On Joy to the rescue, an automatic 1/2 shift preset by a RPM rpm chip. Problem solved. I can do my burnout like I want and make the run and only have to shift once. It worked very well this weekend.
I know, I know welcome to the 20th Century.

Re: Dumbo The Flying Elephant
Congrats on your Doorslamers win, seeing you win class at Indy and taking Dumbo to the winners circle is testimony to all of your hard work.

Re: Dumbo The Flying Elephant
I had to change fuel in the middle of the race due to a fuel leak. Shane Smith was kind enough to sell me some of his or I could not make third round. Today I have to remove the tank and purge the fuel system to make sure I can pass fuel check at St Louis. A little extra work but worth it. Run the valves and load up to travel on Thursday.
