Default Re: weight placement

On my 4335 wt. Olds wagon it actually 60 ft better with weight behind rear end. I did not have a good legal place to bolt it in the back so I put weight on floor behind front seat and lost .03 60ft time.
On my bracket car I ran a no prep race and put weight under back seat and it worked out pretty good. It was only 140 lb. I heard some were putting in 300 lb to make it leave better. I didn't have that much weight to try

For the best weight transfer the weight should be as far back and as high as you can put it legally.

Back in the early 70's I was at a race & could not make legal weight with my 1969 F/S Z-28 Camaro. Seems like my car was one that they didn't put the door braces in, and a few other things.. I took the back seat out and wove some trash bags into the springs. then put the correct weigh of sand in the bags. Worked pretty good. Had those 7" tires hooking so good I won the event. Sure glad the tech guys didn't sit in the back seat.
