Some Modified classes ended up in Comp Eliminator, where they were only slightly out of place.

But a lot of Modified classes ended up in Super Stock. It was bad enough that Modifieds now had breakout rules, but the real loser here was Super Stock Eliminator itself- if you use Super Stock as a dumping ground for everything else, it dilutes what Super Stock really IS.

I mean, how do you explain today's Super Stock dumping grounds to a lay person? Stock is easy enough to explain (except for the cars with no VINs). And Super Stockers are like Stockers, with tubs, big tires, big roller cams, aftermarket intake manifolds, and stuff like that.

In my opinion, cars with 8-barrel aftermarket carbs under aftermarket hood scoops, should not be in Super Stock.

I'm on the fence about the GT classes. I understand why they were originally created, but times have changed, and any perceived need for the GT classes, doesn't exist today.

And I think that Super Stock FWD conversions are just simply over the line- those are not Super Stockers to me.

Admittedly, I am not the average person- when I go to national events, I go cruise the stocker pits when Top Fuel is running, and hang on the fence when Stock is on deck.

Since right now, all I get to watch is the garbage on fox, and when I can catch them the indepent shows on the confusor. If they had knowledgeable announcers why not show 3 or 4 rounds of SS and Stock explaining the cars and getting people interested to become butts in the seats and $$$$$ to the tracks.Get rid of all of the interviews and runs from previous events. The 3 best races I attended were the Atlanta $10,000 races in '66 and '67, and the 1st Summer Nationals, and then a few at E-Town were good. I love this sport, never could afford to make my car legal, but did what I could and still want to race the same car I have had for 41yrs.
