Galot Motorsports Park
Can anyone tell me if Galaot is a 1/4 mile track, or 1/8 mile track? Got a friend of mine heading down to the divisional race next week. I know some southern tracks are 1/8 mile for their weekly programs, but run 1/4 mile for NHRA events.

Re: Galot Motorsports Park
Don’t let the 1/8 mile deter anyone from going. Without a doubt one of the finest tracks in the country and it hosts some very big events with lots of room both paved and grass that is typically well groomed. Easy access from I-95. The .90 classes run 1000’ and we would as well but without indexes for class cars we run 1/8.

Jim, I hear people botching about the indexes not being that good and need adjusting. If that is the case than why not just create a 1000 foot index? Something like (1/8 mile index + 1/4 mile index) / 1.965 = 1000' Index The 1.965 is just a guess on my part. But based on some of your and some other peoples time slips you should be able to get a better number. Stan |

A fine track indeed. My buddy has been there a couple of times and he likes the track.

Re: Galot Motorsports Park
Without a doubt one of the finest facilities in the country that also has a heated and cooled starting line for excellent traction all year long. With tracks closing around the country we need to support the ones that are left and shouldn't let something as trivial as 1/8 mile racing stop us from attending. If it wasn't for not being able to acquire the land needed for the shutdown area it would be 1/4 mile and Mr Wells has not given up on trying to buy it the last time I spoke to him.
