Re: Racers for Trump?????
The VA, IMO, is a huge improvement since around 2015. Remember the huge problems that were with every VA hospital, especially here in Phoenix???? I went to the VA to see a urologist. Appointment times were around 6 weeks. The Urologist was a nice enough guy, but.....get this, he graduated UCLA Med School in 1959. True story. I got approval for cancer treatment from my civilian oncologist. Anyway, a 100% improvement at the VA clinics and hospitals now. Appointment times greatly improved, follow up, emails, they now treat us like humans and not like a number. Check in for an appointment, you now get a smile and a "how ya doing". So much better since President Trump "rattled their cages". I am really grateful for the improvements.
Those that criticize what our President has done to improve Veterans care.........have no idea what they are talking about. I feel much more appreciated now, with our President. Just one more comment. I never get tired of hearing "thank you for your service"....however, the comment that always puts a lump in my throat is "welcome home"...I visualize mail call, mail bag drop, friends that didn't make it....so to my brothers in arms...."welcome home". Appropriately, say "are you a veteran?" Welcome home...

Re: Racers for Trump?????
I have a hard time attempting to defend the other Veterans and me from the likes of Stan Weiss and samuel. I shouldn't have to defend my "drafted" service, or any other person's service of our country, most of us didn't want to go to Viet Nam. Many of Those that came back alive were missing body parts.....I'm missing my spleen....Stan an Sam, have you had artillery, mortars and small arms fire at you everyday....?? where do you want to meet some pissed off veterans. My Marine friends take care of us disabled..so...try us......
Somehow people like you believe that Vietnam was make believe. You believe that if you imagine it, it will go away.

Re: Racers for Trump?????
All of you who know me know that I have my politics and my Christian beliefs, I don't hide that, but in this racially and politically charged environment we've all been thrust into,I see a lot of unnecessary problems caused by the politically motivated instigation of a lot of things. It's important to me to get along with everybody I can, definitely not possible to please everybody, but you wouldn't want to do that. The point of this issue is that politics has demanded a far greater prominence in our culture than it deserves. When destruction of others, lawlessness, hate, and societal issues suffer like this, we need to look at some things.
I have a huge high regard for our Veterans, be they from the Viet Nam era, the Gulf wars, the wars on terrorism, whatever whenever, you veterans deserve the ultimate in high regards. Thanks for your service, welcome back, and may God bless you and fill your lives with good things. Glad to see reform at the VA. When the welfare class gets better medical treatment than our veterans, something definitely went wrong. One of the friends I have made from this forum and from local drag racing in general, is Eddie from Eddie's 66 postings. He has a really cool 66 Nova that he has a lot of fun with, but one of his distinguishing features is his dedication and devotion to veteran's issues. It has been a while since he was discharged, and he still tirelessly pursues his passion to serve our Veterans in many areas. We see each other at Pomona every year, we get lunch together, he's been over to my home several times, whether it was just for lunch or repairing a cylinder head between runs recently, and this guy is about the finest man you will ever meet. I'm sure our political views vary from one another, but that's not why we are friends. All that said, it is pretty obvious that politics is way out of hand when it divides friends, divides families, damages our workplaces and our education system from preschool through grad school, negatively affects our work places, and polarizes our society like it is doing. It seems that there needs to be more non political places where persons of all persuasions can assemble, relax around each other and genuinely enjoy "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" and enjoy our far greater combined strengths rather than our political variances. That's all, I'm done. |
