Question chassis certification

Help, I do not have a current rule book, mine is 2007. The nhra site is not very up to date either. How quick can a bracket car go before chassis certification is req'd ? i always thought is was 10 seconds flat has that changed ?

Roll cage is mandatory in all cars running 10.99 (6.99 1/8) or faster, or any car exceeding 135 MPH.

In full bodied cars with unaltered floor or firewall roll bar is permitted between 10.00 & 10.99 in place of a cage.

I've always thought if any safety equipment is required it needs to meet certification requirements.

The previous poster's information is accurate, but doesn't address the specific, original question.

From the General Regulations (page 120) of the 2008 IHRA Rulebook:

Chassis certifications are mandatory on all entries running 9.00 or quicker 1/4 mile, or 6.00 or quicker 1/8 mile or on any vehicle that exceeds 150 mph.

Cars running between 7.50 & 9.99 must have chassis inspected every 3 years by NHRA and have a serialized sticker affixed to the cage before participation.
