Default The Chevrolet Racing Engine

While reading in my well worn copy of Bill Jenkins book I was looking at the picture inside the front cover, wondered who the crewman/employees were in the photo with Bill and his Monza pro stock. Anyone know these guys? Where did they end up? Where are they now? Must have been an interesting place to work. Always wished he would have done another book before he passed.

There are some guys on the Nostalgia Pro Stock site on FaceBook that can answer your question.

From the left:

Ron Thacker, Larry Lombardo, unsure of the middle guy, George Areford (pretty sure) and Joe Tryson.

Thanks for the reply! Its unfortunate that the book doesn't list them. I know Lombardo was the driver or eventually became the driver. Never realized that was him. Maybe someone else will fill in the other.

How about Dick Whitman or Pete Hutchinson?

Page 139 of "Grumpy's Toys" by Doug Boyce is the same picture with the names of each person. The Grump isn't named, but pretty obvious who he is.

Alan the middle guy is Rich Wright. Good job on the rest.
