Racing in six weeks? Afraid that’s a bit optimistic but at least they’re trying to get a plan out there. Personally think that a phasing in of the workforce (broadening of “essential” definition being a first step) is going to happen long before sporting events like racing, MLB, etc. are permitted. Perhaps July 4th?

I’d have to agree with you but, time will tell. I think they have to give hope that this thing is going to end because we all know if they cancel the season in April and it passes in June people would be all mad because they cancelled the season.

I live in the beautiful N.W. and the 1st race is at Pacific in June. Looking forward to and planning on being there to catch up with friends. I know it is optimistic but with Prayer it will happen.

I believe some other things will need to happen before we can race again, but we have to be positive about this whole deal.

Personally I think anything BEFORE JULY 1 is being overly optimistic---Maybe Mid August MAYBE, MAYBE, MAYBE and I don't think thats even going to be doable !!!! This is going to take a long time to settle out and it hasn't even reached its crest . I look at this as like a flood however long it takes to crest it will take that long to subside. It's now April 1 been going up for over 3 months hasn't reached its peak yet so you're looking at at least 4 more months minimum probably 5-6 which makes it now the end of Aug---keep on hoping but I think this year is pretty much gone maybe 1-2 races Sept/Oct depending on where you live if it resumes at all. And guys I'm the most optimistic person you'll ever meet. I HOPE I'M WRONG MY .02---FED 387

I wish the divisional sights would update the schedule to the revised schedule that NHRA announced.

I see the best case scenario is that the racing season starts in Pomona in February 2021.

No baseball this year. Baseball starts again in 2021.
No hockey and basketball until the start of the 2021-2022 season.
No football in 2020.

And when things do start up again, how long before fans start feeling comfortable sitting in grandstands?

Jim, I never gleaned from your posts that you were such a pessimist. Certainly hope you’re pleasantly surprised by how soon we’re racing again. My worse case prediction is Indy. Buddy and I still hold hotel reservations in Dawson City Yukon for the big D2D motorcycle rally in June. Only risk is the amount of human stupidity around so yes, that may be a bit optimistic.

I have hotel reservations for the D1 race at Maple Grove in late May (somewhat doubtful), and the Norwalk National event in late June (hopeful). Right now it is just a matter of "wait and see".
