Re: Indy To Go or Not To Go that is the question
I'm with you Barry. I can't get into another national event. I'm entered into Maplegrove national event but that doesn't look promising. So probably heading to Indy.

Re: Indy To Go or Not To Go that is the question
Indy and Labor day weekend has long been a milestone in the flow of our lives for most of us reading this post.
No matter what other success you have enjoyed in your life the US Nationals is "the" race to win. This track has been very good to me over the decades and the source of so many of our fondest memories. By now you no doubt have guessed my answer. No, we will not be going, though I truly wish that were not the case. The reason is because of a simple belief I hold sacred and that is, that no matter how much wealth you may possess, you really have little in this world if you and yours don't have your health. Re: Indy To Go or Not To Go that is the question
One alternative is Tri-State Raceway in Earlville, Iowa, a MWCR double Sep't 5-6 and stay over for D5 LODRS, Sep't 11-12-13. Great campgrounds for stay over. Fast downhill staging lanes and track.
I think MWCR pays $2K to win each day for $100 entry |

Re: Indy To Go or Not To Go that is the question
I think it is very telling that we are 4 weeks from sending cars down the track at Indy for THE BIG GO....and it is opened up to a Grade 2....yet, only 35 stockers entered.
1. Tells you what the class racers really think of not having class this year. 2. I think also people dont want NHRA holding onto their money if they dont have to just yet. With everything being "postponed" in recent events, cant blame anyone at all.

Re: Indy To Go or Not To Go that is the question
I've been racing at Indy for almost 30 years and this would have been my Dad's 63rd year in a row. But the borders remain closed so neither one of us will be going. I'm oddly not that upset about it.

Re: Indy To Go or Not To Go that is the question
For all of you that decide to attend; I will see you bright and early on Thursday Sept. 3.
Without Class Elims. it won't be Indy in the traditional sense; but it is still Indy, the biggest and best drag race in the world!
