Default Legality questions in stock

Few questions since another thread has blown up over engine combo avgs lol. Couple questions for STOCK

1. Does aftermarket crankshaft HAVE to be on the accepted list if it is legal by weight and design?

2. Is crank trigger ignition ok if it did not come with a crank sensor?

3. Can you run coil near plug system ( 8 coils like and GM LS engine) if it did not come that way from the factory?

Just curious questions....asking for a friend

The crankshaft can be added to the list if it checks out. There is a form and you or the manufacturer have to send it in to NHRA for approval.

#2 is a maybe. If you are running an LT-1 with the Optijunk setup you are allowed to run a crank trigger.

Can you use a Torque Head system on a LT1?

Yes and no........... Once again.

You must use the Optijunk as a "distributor", the coil wire must go into it and get distributed to the 8 cylinders. You can not use individual coil packs.

You can use parts of that Torque Head system, but you can only use a single external coil.

You can use any ECM you like, I prefer the new Holley stuff, and no traction control devices.

We have modified the Optijunk units to give us a cam sync signal for sequential fuel injection and use an external crank trigger in tandem.
