440 6 pack
Putting together a stocker bottom end and I have 3 blocks to choose from.
The best block checks out with a minimum of .171 cylinder wall thickness. Before machine work is done. My pistons are .060 over. The question I have is, would you fill the block or sleeve all eight cylinders? I've had someone tell me do not fill the blocks you will lose ring seal. Re: 440 6 pack
The reason to fill blocks is to preserve ring seal. Increases rigidity. Fill as high as possible leaving 1-1/2" at the top.

Re: 440 6 pack
Is .171 on thrust side of cylinder.
That is the most significant spot.

Re: 440 6 pack
I would rather see it on the bottom than the top
for the thinner side. My big blocks are thicker than that by .030/.040. I think you would be fine with a filled block at that dimension. Sometimes my filled blocks leaked better after they had been reringed once....But they were still decent the first time.

Re: 440 6 pack
Nope!
Really not needed in a Mopar 440 at this power level in my opinion.
