Crankshaft Work
I have a beautiful NOS Winberg crank for a R3 Mopar block I am building for this year.
It has a Chevy rear flange and I need it bored to accept the snout from a 904 TorqueFlite converter. I know of lots great places I could send it to that could do this work. However I cannot bring myself to hand this thing over to a shipping company. If something happened to it I would have to get another made at great expense with a time delay. There are not to many around with SBF mains and 3.28 strokes! Can anyone recommend a crankshop or perhaps a machine shop within a days drive of Tulsa, Oklahoma that you would trust explicitly to do this work? Thanks! Bill Lamb SS/BS 4340 |

Re: Crankshaft Work
I would call Stanley Morton. Morton Machine. Close to Coweta PM me if you want his number. Stanley would know who to use, if he can’t do it.

Re: Crankshaft Work
I’d call Brad VanLant. I don’t have his contact info on my phone (I’m at Orlando) but can get that for you Sunday. Looks like he’s about 275 miles from Tulsa.

Re: Crankshaft Work
Thanks everyone. Lots of good suggestions.
I am sure one of these folks can do the job or know someone who can. Bill |

Re: Crankshaft Work
Can't a regular machine shop with a decent size lathe turn the ID of the register?

However that would then make the converter somewhat of an unicorn. I guess the crank could always be bushed back to the Chevy specs if someone wanted to go to more of a GM setup. Thanks for the response, Bill |
