Default Current SS A/H car in NNS?

As everyone knows Hemi Shootouts are dying off and I still want to race my car. Please help guide me here because this NSS stuff is Greek to me
My combo is a A/H Iron Block and Iron Head motor. I run a billet intake so that puts me in AAAA/FX to A/FX. I run a Clutchless 4 speed so that also is allowed the same classes. I have to put on smaller tires because my 14.5’s are not allowed. Guys am I missing anything else? Is there a minimum weight? Our 1968 Darts and Barracuda’s had light weight front ends from the factory so is that an issue?

I could be wrong, but arent NNS races just bracket races? I'm not putting them down, just asking because if you have a NHRA legal SS/AH car, why wouldn't you run divisionals and Super Stock/Stock association races along with the shootout races? Then you wouldn't have to change anything on your car.

There is a Hemi Shootout at the Dutch Classic in 3 weeks.

That’s what I did this year I hurt my engine so no Dutch for me this year. The reason is I have a spare motor and can change cams and some other stuff to slow it down to say 8.75 and not be as hard on parts. A/H racing is super hard on parts but I hear you

Contact Jim Bailey for the NMCA NSS questions you may have , but there are other groups that have different specs on which class they want you in.
Some of my friends and I are also contemplating the same thing. More races, easier on parts. Oh and the Fun factor. I have been to a few NMCA events and they were GREAT!

You can have a taller than stock hood scoop or one that doesn't belong there at all ;-)

I would think one of the appeals of these classes is making your car less maintenance intensive so with a intake and transmission change you could run one of the NSS classes and still have a lot of fun. Not sure how engaged Jim Bailey is right now with Ian’s aftermath but he could probably entertain recommendations on rule changes that would make your switchover even easier.

Any reason for not running NMCA's Super Stock class?

Jim,

Give me a call. I can run thru all the avenues you can go down with Wendell's old car.

I sold the twin to Benny in 2020. He's been at INDY the last two years with it. Think I saw picture of both taken during TT.

I now race in NHRA divisional, National, and NMCA, and Stock/SuperStock associations. Raced 14 times year.

Thanks, Bill Kraft seven one six- 55three-zero 9 89

I might have an issue with the intake but not the Trans because it’s legal
