Making Money
"Now everyone can sit there and do the math. X-amount of racers multiplied by the entry fee gives you a good example of the money taken in. Total up the purse and it’s a simple “this minus that” tells you how much money is made. Except that it doesn’t give you the big picture."

Re: Making Money
Very good article John. I've thought about the same things many times and have come to the same conclusions. Top all of that with rainouts and the general upkeep. Yes hopefully many of our other tracks do not fall to the same fate.

Re: Making Money
Not to mention the trouble hiring and retaining good employees. Often wonder how Chic-fil-a does it.

Re: Making Money
Maybe it would be help if this year we the racer's let the track owners keep half the payout purse ! Remember without race tracks we have no where to race !

Re: Making Money
They pay a higher hourly wage than most of their competitors, they have good training for employees, and they have a good college scholarship program for the students who make up a good portion of their workforce.
