Default Vegas quotas not met...

Curious why so many passed on the Vegas spring race? Realize our Canadian friends are mostly denied entry across the border but still seems like a lot of openings meanwhile folks complaining about needing so many grade points to get in. Innocent question here, just wondering...

The loss of the Winternationals April 9th, effected several Div 6 racers decision to with draw from Vegas.( Including myself )
Its 1,200 miles one way, for 2 Q hits and then eliminations. Diesel fuel is in the mid to high 3 $ gallon range in the West.
Would have been nice to have the Lucas Oil Div 7 Divisonal the weekend after the Vegas Nationals.....
With the loss of the Mission double in Div 6 , Its means more travel to get grade points....
(Or skip the National events)..

It sucks for sure that the border isn't open for us Canadians who have always ran the Vegas races. And it doesn't look like its opening soon thanks to our inept Prime Minister not getting the vaccines. Canadian ranks as one of the slowest countries in the world at vaccinating its people. That being said I don't want to turn this into a political thread as that's not my intention. I went thru and looked at how many Canadians would normally be at the Vegas race. Its a few.

I'm sure I missed some. This list doesn't include Canadian races that compete in the other classes as well as I know there's lots.

Know it sucks for you folks Bob. Buddy and I were planning on riding our bikes to Alaska again this year but the way it’s looking the borders may not open till late summer. Hopefully NHRA will make some concessions on grade points for 2022 like they did this year.

Steve, I’d forgotten about west coast fuel prices and NHRA’s scheduling mastery. Last summer was the first in many years we didn’t get to spend time in the PNW, still my 1st choice for summers at least; winters, not so much LOL.

Spectator seating is sold out being set at only 50%. I'm not sure if this effects crew members as well. I had a few folks tell me they were disappointed they could buy tickets.

Jim, when you're in Port Ludlow give me a call, Indianola is just across the Hood Canal bridge.

Received my booklet today on rules and covid restriction. Mask at all times. No visiting with others. Might have to phone for lane choice.

And there is the real answer to why they didn’t make quota.
