What are you guys doing with outdated snell rated helmets? Is there any market for these or do you just give/donate them? Any value at all? I have 3 open and 1 full face expired helmets.

Re: old helmets
I use one when I ride my Harleys and
Keep a couple of 2005s in my side x sides They spent years in my Air Conditioned/Heated/Dry Home = I think they are still plenty safe to use. They are probably worth a FEW bucks.....Just not to Racers.

Re: old helmets
Not long ago Travis Miller posted a very good idea.
He suggested to keep the outdated helmets around and with in easy reach if you live in tornado country. Most serious injuries are caused by debris hitting people's heads. If you have more old helmets than your family needs, donate your extras to other relatives or neighbors

Re: old helmets
My dad was cremated. On the day of his burial, all the family members signed an old helmet of his. The box containing his ashes was placed in the helmet. That’s how we buried him. ❤️

Re: old helmets
Like my old out of date seat belt harnesses, never had any trouble selling the old helmets to local oval track /demo derby racers. They will be stressing them more than I ever have!

Re: old helmets
I had no issue selling via Facebook. You should be able to find some takers on any number of racing related Facebook groups.

Re: old helmets
Hi guys I sell them at my shop 2nd Hand Power Speed Shop I buy, sell, trade and consign. Been in business about 30 years, local small tracks don't check them. You could ship them to me or if you see me at a race you could get them to me and I can send you a check when they sell. I also can sell used slicks if you will leave a little on the depth check someone will buy them. I have a lot of budget racers that shop with me. I am planning on going to Atlanta next week and Bowling Green. I have sold a lot of used slicks for Kenny and Amy Faulk over the years. I will be in my AA/sa orange 69 camaro you can email me at secondhandpower@gmail.com
