Default Al Ackerman engine in F/D

Just curious and I really not sure but, it look like Mr. Ackerman had a different engine set-up at the Keystone National last week-end. Could it be an half v8 engine ?
I saw a quick view in comp qualification session, on NHRA TV but couldn't find any details or photos yet.
Thanks for your help,
Charles Stewart

Here's a very poor quality view of his recent engine.

Charlie,
I saw a video of it running down track.
Can't remember who sent it to me.
I thought the same thing.. Half of a V-8

It's a mid-deck, Small Block Chevy Pro Stock Truck class block with a Splayed Valve cylinder head. The engine is 191 CID.

Dear Sir, thanks for those details, but I'm a little bit more curious...
Do you know if Mr. Ackerman run a full v8 crank and cam or special machined 4 row only crank and cam.
Thanks for your reply,
Sincerely,
Charles Stewart

Do not know what they did with the crankshaft and camshaft.
Clint Neff's dragster, driven by Kayla Mozeris, has a Mercury Cruiser Ford 460 engine with Ford E-460 Pro Stock cylinder heads built the same way. Neff's engine is 251 CID.

Your right Sir,
I also saw the Neff and Mozeris F/DA that Kayla drive and it's also a very, very interesting setup. In that case, look like the complete block is there with a cover just over the passenger side deck. Could it be that, in this side bank, pistons are still there for balancing purpose ?
Keep on SSDiv6,

Keep on SSDiv6,
I was talking to Joe Mozeris and had the chance to look at the engine closely. The engine did not have the cover on the passenger side and the cylinders on the block appeared to have been filled solid.
