I think I've already asked this question. But here it comes again.

If a car will hook up completely, with 9" tires, aprox how much will big tires, such as 14x32, slow the car down ?

I know that the tires will be heavier.

The wheels will be heavier.

The friction of the larger contact patch will have to slow the car some, after it gets some speed goin. I assume that's why drag cars run small front tires, with less rolling resistance.

So, are we talkin thousandths, hundredths, or tenths ?

Got word that Phil Szupka sold his '73 Bird to Bill Foder.

Then Bill Foder sold it to someone else.

So, does anybody here know any or all the next owners of that car ?

By the way, I just stumbled across this. Says that Bill Foder built the 400 engine that propelled Phil Monteith's 3rd gen Hatari Bird, to Peter Biondo's 1st SS championship, in 1996.

Last week I attended the GNRS in Pomona. I had the pleasure of meeting Jan, and Art Peterson. Their 69 GTO was featured in the, Drag Racing Then and Now, building. Nice people. They say Hi, to all the racers back East.

I didn't mean to leave anyone out, earlier.

BES Engines (Tony Bischoff) can build a fast Pontiac S/S -er .

Gary Herche built Chris Stevenson's 400, although I don't know his current status.

I know a few more, but not sure they need the publicity right now ;-)

I assume this 1st pic is from Indy, since there appear to be so many fans, in the stands. The 2nd pic shows him in a '72 GTO.
I currently own the 72 gto bought it from jerry stealy who bought it from phil hopefully it will be on the track in division 5 in 2021 after I retire and have a life again

OK, just got the names of 3 more possible Pontiac class racer engine builders. A Pontiac engine builder who doesn't do class engines, recommended Competition Components.

https://www.buyracingparts.com/

For those on the East coast, he recommended Richie Hoffman. I think his shop is on Long Island.

https://www.facebook.com/richie.hoffman.520125

Richie also recommended Todd Hoven.

https://www.facebook.com/todd.hoven.3

I'll try to contact some of the big name Pontiac builders & see if any of them have any Stock/SS engines out there.

I think Jerry Stealy also had a 71/72 Lemans wagon that ran in Super Stock

The only 72 Lemans wagons I really remember are the 2 that Gary Wood had, which ran Stock. They were named Tons-a-Fun. Anybody know what happened to those wagons ?
