As we were being torn down, after losing 1st round, we asked the official what happened.
He said they drove past the scales. We were told that every racer, win or lose, should go to the scales. |

Re: Strange happenings in Stock race 1 in Tx.
As an unwilling participant in the win light fiasco. I might as well throw my two cents worth in. I ran towards the front of line; probably 5or 6 pairs from front . Nothing was said about the left side win light not working. When I ran and my win light didn't come on I did what I.ve been doing for the last 40 years and went around the line at scales. I usually wait for my opponent to weigh and be a good sport about losing but he stopped at end of track. It wasn't until I got back to pit area that I found I had won.In my opinion myself and a few other racers got a royal screwing. Telling people that the win light isn,t working in the middle of elimination's is just plain stupid. nuff said.

Re: Strange happenings in Stock race 1 in Tx.
So, NHRA is bringing in thousands of dollars at these divisional races, but can't replace a freakin light bulb or two? Give me a break! Guess they think letting the racers know the outcome of the race doesn't matter, as long as the people in the tower know. Kinda sounds like the government. The public doesn't need to know as long as the officials in charge know what's going on. Guess it's a need to know basis, and the racers don't need to know who won, according to the officials! What a bunch of crap this turning into. No time slips, no win lights, and they are the premier drag racing series in the country? NHRA better get their head out of there ***. We racers spend A LOT of money attending these events, it's about time NHRA starts to show a little appreciation to the sportsman ranks.

Re: Strange happenings in Stock race 1 in Tx.
Since my name help start this. I race Lance Line and when we came off the track I had no ideal if I won. I did the only thing that I been too all my 40 plus years racing. Go to the scales and complete a fuel check. I did find it unusual that Lance drove pass me as I was at fuel check. Then I went to my pit and checked my phone. My time slip on my phone showed that Lance had won. I told one of my team mates and they said to go back to the tech trailer at fuel check. When I got there I was told I was back in.
With that being said Lance saw me pull on the scales and since his light didn’t come on figured that I had won. I told scales tech people I had no ideal if I won and they said go to fuel check. The light they put up is a joke. You can not see them or for me I can not. Started carrying my cell phone for et slip.

No time slips is the dumbest thing that i have ever heard!!!!!!!! Dumb lazy. I to have a flip phone. It is so lazy for the track not to have some one at the scales to say if you win or loose!!!!!!!!!
