Default TNT Super Series to honour top teams at Yearend Awards Dinner!

Grassroots 10.90 sportsman series crowns its third champion on Nov 21st

With its third full season in the books, the Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series is preparing to reward the best of the best at its yearend awards night. Mick & Angelo’s Eatery in Niagara Falls, Ontario will once again host the 3rd annual season closing event on Saturday November 21st at 8pm. A record-setting 47 teams ran the heads-up, 10.90 sportsman series in 2009 with some of the tightest finishes you'll see in motorsports.

Joe Boniferro, owner of Joe’s Transmission Service is proud to be the title sponsor of such a competitive series. "I have said it before - this is one of the best, if not the best 10.90 class programs out there with some of the best racers in North America," said Joe. "There are no gimmies. Any one driver can win on any given day and the points chase always goes to the last race."

The 2009 Joe's Transmission TNT Super Series champion is Paul Young of Alden, NY. Paul wheeled his 1966 Fairlane to 735 points and took the championship at the final event over Cheektowaga, NY based Jamie Stoneman's 730 points and his 1993 S10 pickup. Landing in third place is Gary Kerl of Williamsville, NY and his 1968 Camaro with 686 points. Bill Elekes of West Seneca, NY took his 1975 Monza to fourth place with 670 points and Tom Coonly of Blasdell, NY with his 1975 Nova finished fifth with 661 points.

Rounding out the top ten are Ted Barnes (Canfield, ON), Ken Jozwiak (Alden, NY), Dave Surmatchewski (Oakland, ON), Fred Gross (Brampton, ON) and Jon Jablonski (West Seneca, NY).

Not only will the top five in points receive their cash & series jackets on November 21st, but all 47 points members are eligible to select from the popular prize table. "If you've never been to this deal, you want to show up. Last year, each driver went home with some pretty cool stuff!" commented Ted Barnes, TNT Series Director.

Three seasons into this, Ted wanted to thank everyone who touches the series and makes it the spectacular show that it is. "I can't possibly list everyone involved. All I can tell you is the support is incredible and the racers couldn't appreciate it more." Ted was quick to mention the relationship with Joe Boniferro, title sponsor. "Joe's input and support can't be measured. To have someone with his expertise backing our series is invaluable."

Two people who make a difference at TNT events are Russ & Arlene Parker. "Ask any of the racers and they will tell you that this series runs very smoothly on raceday and it's because of their efforts," added Ted. "They are at each and every event - bringing both operational expertise and a racer's perspective. Priceless!"

Event sponsors for 2009 include NOCO Energy, Rosehill Auction House, JanCen Motorsports, The Balancing Act, Performance Improvements, Steve’s Electric, 24 Hour Tire Service, Bieda's Powersports and Scott Jahren Paint.
