Re: Dumbo The Flying Elephant
All ready started receiving new parts from vendors at PRI show, great work from Brad Rounds and T&D.
Got three boxes sent off today. Everything should be back before the Gators. |

Re: Dumbo The Flying Elephant
Got some stuff done this week, filled the block. It was quite the ordeal with a thick cold like molasses filler. I still have the other side to do. I have some adjustments that have to be made to my tooling. First thing will be labeling all parts and locations assignments. Stupid old man trick, is thinking that I would remember where everything assembled on the block that I made a few weeks ago. For a while those few pieces of steel were smarter than me. Strengthening fixture to withstand 80 ft/lb torque and remain close to level on two axis. Do a better job of masking.
We spent a lot of time in December with medical appointments, not that we are sick, just are deductibles have been met for 2019. Patsy was going to post pictures of progress but PhotoBucket has been down. |

Re: Dumbo The Flying Elephant
Made some adjustments and the fill of the other side of the block went much better.

Re: Dumbo The Flying Elephant
So you will run no water in the block? Is this typical of stocker setup?
Sorry if I sound dumb but I have no expericence in stock racing only bracket racing. Really appreicate your time posting the progress. |

Re: Dumbo The Flying Elephant
Problem is block is weak and cylinders won't stay round or straight. Fill still leaves 1-1/4 inch from the top for water circulation. It's okay to race with but not to go cruise with. Anything within the rules for a few more horses

Re: Dumbo The Flying Elephant
Just got back from "Tommys Machine " in Springfield Tn. Tommy is back and upgrading plant and equipment. Everything is better, new insulated roof, great led lighting, new cleaning equipment, new Rotler hone with tv screen. Crank grinder with indexing chucks. Good service with fair prices

Come on down, I always heard two people can do it quicker than one! The real plus side of teamwork is that everyone has someone to blame.
