Hey Paul, my car is at 4400lbs. Can not get it light enough for N/SA and it must weigh 4650lbs for P/SA.

WOW... my 95 ImpalaSS has to weigh 4300 minimum but run at 4350lbs for G/PS

The 69 Impala can be lightened to run in K
Though most of the time it ran M/SA.

Who would ever think the 1966 4000 lb. cars were light,,,,,
compared to the 4400+ lb. 'sleds' of,,,

I have a good friend that has 66 impala ss 427/390 his father bought the car new. Him and his brother used to race the car he is on this site so he may add to this.

what transmission did these cars use.
I think the Turbo 400 came out in 67? Called the M40 if I remember right.

Turbo 400 came out in 1966.

Turbo 350. Mine is a 69.

Must of been late 65 with 396 first half of the year was still the 409 and I have never hear of it coming with turbo 400.
