Default Uneven flexplate to converter gap

I've been dealing with an issue where I always have a .050 gap at the bottom 80 degrees of the flexplate. There's always a .050 gap between the flexplate and converter lug. It's always at the bottom even if I rotate the engine 180 or spin the converter. The combo is BBF, glide with JW bell and flexplate and TCI midplate adapter in tube chassis car. I verified the converter lugs all touch the flexplate before installing the trans. The converter was just freshened and a new front pump installed in the trans. Flexplate runout .016. my thought is tightening down the converter to flexplate with that .050" will load the flexplate and cause excessive wear on front pump, converter and maybe cause starter issues. Any thoughts appreciated.

That strikes me as a bellhousing issue, possibly not square? Shouldn't be too hard to measure it.

Thanks Phil, I'm going to pull the trans and remove the bellhousing tonight. I'm hoping to find something obvious, like part of the case that needs a little more material removed. Will take some measurements too and see where it's at. Will let you know whatIi find.
