Default Swing out bar.

Is it legal in stock and super stock to have a swing out door bar on the driver side and passenger side?

Like Billy said but only on 8.50 and slower roll cage certs.
I've installed many of them .
I highly recommend using the billet clevis sold by Applied Racing Technology.
Simple and effective. Much less vertical slop in movement.

Thank you Tom for the heads up about the ART swing out kit after reading your post I called ART and ordered a kit and we installed it in our 95 Camaro it was a simple installation. Kenney Kelley

Kenny , some of the little tricks i do with those clevis include beveling the edged of the top pieces so they engage each other more easily , and using a .030" hardened valve spring shim in the bottom pivot to act as a bearing,I found nickel antiseize works best to lube it.. This allows you to keep the bottom bolt tighter and make the bar close easier with less movement up and down.
another thing you can do is to drill and tap the slot in both clevis' for a 10-24 allen cap screw that can act as a limiter both opening and closing , just have to position it carefully. Makes closing a lot easier and keeps the bar from rubbing on the door panel.

.Try to keep the lower pivot as close to bottom as possible to minimize any flexing. .

Welded a small strip of metal on the inboard side of the upper clevis to prevent the swing out bar from going past the pit pin center.

Thumbs up Re: Swing out bar.

Kenny, I just put one in my Stocker because of my back surgeries this past year. Tom's remarks above are spot on! ART makes the finest and strongest unit available. I looked at them all before I pulled the trigger! I should have done it a long time ago! Jim
