Default Crank oil pan opinions

Contemplating another run at a serious 265 SS engine
Looking for opinions on cranks

Anything exotic available?

Also oil pan: Jim Johnstone or Dan Olson, other?

My regular stuff has run about 489 HP, my one good one hit 509, shooting for 515 this go round

Might want to check for a Moldex piece.

Check with Adney Brown of Performance Crankshaft (Detroit Crankshaft) and get his opinion of comparing GM forging bearing last three numbers of 236 after fully prepping and nitriding.

You can spend more $, but doubtful if you would get better reliable cranks.

Forgot to include oil pan recommendation: Doug Lee of Engineuity in Miami, OK. Good secret to know about if you want to use aluminum.

Just a heads up, "Charlie" of Charlie's Oil Pans retired a few years ago and is living the good life in Florida. The gentleman that took over the business is not pursuing the building oil pans as of the last I knew.

My votes would be Winberg on the crank and Doug Lee on the pan.

Randallthere is a great link about oil pans on the “Speed Talk” web site. It’s rather lengthybut has some great theoretical and real world discussion with recommendations.
