Hey: Name one NHRA track that does fuel check for class cars and does not sell VP, Sunoco or some other brand that is on the accepted list.

Very confused....
FUEL CHECK...
What are they checking for?
Specific Gravity?

Mixing an Unleaded Fuel Sunoco 260GTX and Leaded Supreme.
Both listed as legal fuels would cause a car to be DQed?

This does not make sense..

Not every track has all the blends.
Especially Sunoco 260GTX

Dan

Fuel check is using a dielectric constant meter that has been zeroed against a standard such as Cyclohexane or Indolene. Typically Cyclohexane. IF it passes, ok....IF not, yer outa there regardless of what fuel you claim. That method of NHRA fuel check has been in place for many decades.
Now I heard that if you used some 1,4 dioxane.......well, that is another story. LOL

We run VP and don’t prefer switching back and forth to Sunoco (which is at more NhRA tracks) so we just plan ahead and bring what we need. That is really all you need to do If the Sunoco xxx is what you prefer. Mixing is a problem, so don’t do it.

I like the unleaded Sunoco 260GTX the best.
Just do not see it much at the tracks.
Then Forced to run the Leaded.

I prefer VP fuel and have a distributor close to me. I purchase my fuel there and carry enough with me for the race. Typically I carry about 15 gallons along with me. In the past I have had difficulties with the Sunoco fuel and fuel check so I went back to VP. Very rarely do I have any issues with fuel check using VP C12. If you mix the fuel you will have problems at fuel check. Sometimes if you change fuel and don't get all of it out of the system before the new fuel is put in it can cause it to fail. Best is to pick one type of fuel and have enough on hand so you don't have to go through those gyrations.

If you want to run an approved fuel that's not readily available, you will need to bring an ample supply with you. Changing fuels at the track will require pumping out old fuel, flushing with your new fuel, and I usually have the fuel tested before I go to the lanes to be sure I will pass.

And Dan, you can call Jason at Insinger and get fuel if it's not available at the track.
