Default Feather Duster Question

I am acquiring a Plymouth Feather Duster. I would like to build a Stock Eliminator car. I am concerned with the fact that the Feather Duster only came w/ the 225 Slant Six w/ the 1 barrel carb being able to run the index.

So my question is if I go to a GT SS class and run a 318 or 360 w/ the feather duster?

That was only a light weight package with the inner structure of the hood and deck lid. I know of atleast one driver in Division 5 that has one and uses a 340 combo and runs in F/SA..

Thank you. I was questioning it because the NHRA guide list the Feather Duster separate from the Duster. So I assume as long as I remove the aluminum brackets and such that I can then run a 318 and run O/SA or does NHRA care about the brackets as long as I make weight?

Post Re: Feather Duster Question

There are a number of cars that use Feather Duster or Dart Lite parts on other combinations. Hood and trunk interchange '73-'76. Hoods need corresponding lighter springs and trunk tension needs to be reset. The inner bumper braces offer the most weight savings, but they must be used with the "shock absorber" type of brackets, which started in '74 in the rear and '75 in the front. They don't interchange with the earlier standard brackets without mods.

This is very interesting and I've always considered these cars to be the "trick lick". What other parts are acceptable for Stock.
Bye the way, How much did these stock cars actually way. I always considered Feather Dusters and Dodge Lite's to be the ultimate race cars.
