Look before you pull out
I was told by a racer that two cars collided on the return road at.Columbus points meet. I did see it and I did not talk to the racers. But I have asked before, what you guys do after a run and you pull over and stop on the return road. I don't stop after I make a run, I head back to the trailer, but at least three times, I have had racers that stopped, decide to start up and pull right out in front of me, with out looking. Please be safe, and look back before you start up and go to the other side of the road.

Re: Look before you pull out
You also need to look back when leaving the ticket booth/scales.

Re: Look before you pull out
Maverick,
You are correct. Two drivers did bump into one another on the return road during S/G time trials. It was Gary Linkhorn and Tim Tiry. The car that Tim had just ran pulled the chute (Big mph car) and pulled over on top of the hill (across from the safety crew) to gather the laundry up. Gary and another racer was down the hill pulled over to the right. Tim went by the guy that pulled over on top of the hill at that time Gary was starting to pull out. I guess Tim didn't see Gary due to the height of the hood scoop. They did bump into each other. They both pulled over to the right, stopped and got out. Gary was able to make the call for first round, don't know if Tim was able to make it. |
