Does anyone have pictures or history on Seminole Dragstrip west of Tallahassee, FL on SR20? My parents live in Panama City, FL and I remember driving by this old closed track about 10 years ago. It is basically all there including the old tower. I never hear of any old stories regarding this track and I know that there has to be someone out there that can share some info on this track.

The project is still alive and well, Adger, with the same four core members. It has taken up a substantial portion of our lives and is still eating up the equivalent of another full-time job in hours per week.

Our project is substantially different than any before it and, quite frankly, is far beyond a paperback book as a final product. Our goal is not neccessarily to sell books but, rather, to get a copy of our work in the National Archives/Library of Congress for use as a research tool for future generations...and we're not talking for the next fifty years; we're talking five hundred years.

If we do sell the finished product, I can promise you it will be very expensive. However, it will aslo be positively monstrous in size...for whatever that's worth.

Bret,
Thanks for the update. I sure did enjoy working on that with you guys.
I can understand why the "Work In Progress" sign is hanging out. There is alot of history out there to be documented. I hope to get to see your finished product some day.

Know this is about Georgia drag strips, but it goes back in the 60's. Lots and lots of pictures and names of folks no longer here. The site is closed, but still there on the net......frankchastain

Steve1118...not sure how to get to your pictures. Have you seen the 2 home movies
on YouTube of Peterson? Not very good quality...but the PA2 version...which has the
Jungle Jim Nova and Schartman FC's...that movie looks an awful lot like PID.

Maybe you could take a peek? I never had the chance to go to Altoona or PID back
in the day...but stopped by once at PID after it closed...

Anyone remember Green Pine?, a small 1/8th mile track somewhere in central or
western PA?

Any better idea where it might have been? I live near New Castle PA, just on the Ohio line, roughly halfway between Erie and the WV line. Never heard of a Green Pine (but, then again, I'm only 32). I remember, hearing of, at least, Skyline (New Castle), Sunset (Mercer) in far west PA, plus PID, Keystone (now Pittsburgh Raceway Park) and New Bethlahem and Peterson Memorial.

I found through searching that Green Pine Dragway sits on the side of the mountain South of Williamsport, PA. - up in the woods, in the Allenwood area. A 'short' Circle Track was at the end of Reach Road, and it sounds like the drag strip was near it. They claim that the 1/8 track is still there.
