Re: Super class survey
I would run a 7.90 pro tree class, but there are a few cars in our association that would not be able to step up. I doubt the association would follow any change.

I was talking to my wife about it over the weekend and the only way I think a MPH limit would work is to make those higher MPH cars move up a class the following year. For example, NHRA sets a MPH limit for Super Street @ 145 mph. Anyone who runs 145 mph or faster throughout 2011 in Super Street would be required to move to a different class (S/Gas) in 2012. (Correct me if I'm wrong here, but 145mph in Super Street SHOULD definately run 9.90 without the throttle stop. And they should already have the chassis certs and licenses to run that fast.) So, throughout 2011 - Big Dog Domingues can run 152 mph every race if he wants to, but in 2012, he would have to move up to S/Gas. Do I want to see this? No way. I rarely get to race Domingues and I enjoy having him in our class. This is the only way I can see any type of MPH limit put on any class. Thanks, Brad |

Re: Super class survey
here ya go , this will fix everything :
S/C 7.00 S/G 8.00 S/ST 9.00 now before you yell *sshole that is 1000' ET,s this will speed it up a touch ET, and also loose some MPH ( for the slow cars), and it will also let NHRA leave the big blow up finishline markers in place. check your time slips before *itchin please |

Re: Super class survey
Ok so some of you guys don't care for the faster cars in the classes.....right...what is it....the looking over your shoulder part....or the ego part....he goes faster than me....or you would just like to go faster.....
For me, I do like to chase...because I'm not good enough to look over my shoulder.........and I like the car to get my attention a little.... The speed thing is self governing.....in super gas, 170 seems to be the speed....in super comp 180 seems to be the speed....it appears that is the ceiling for consistency....(.not sure about super street....) I know guys go faster but I'm talking about winners......So whats the issue.....who cares if somebody goes 200....or 180 in super gas..... Their light doesn't come on very often..... Rock Haas |

Re: Super class survey
Thats because his truck can run 150+. I agree with Regan, put a speed limit in place. 135mph in SST would be fine with me.LOL Taking the electronic throttle stops away may work also. I would rather see things stay the same and let SST race other classes at the same event. I personally don't think this poll has anything to do with the fans, but rather the increasing number of trashed cars and injuries from excessive braking. Until NHRA stops giving out pink slips and starts suspending racers nothing will change. If they lower the index racers will find a way to make there cars faster and you will have the same problems at a higher mph.
