I'll tell you what's amazing. Two 20 ounce draft beers back home would have cost me 20 bucks with a tip. I spent 20 dollars U.S. yesterday and stayed eight hours at the race track and watched some great qualifying by race cars that were second to none. People were friendly and the beer was cold. These grandstands should be packed with old geezers like me. Wives should see this as very affordable adult day care for their husbands. Heck, you can bring your own lunch and a cooler full of beer if you're on a fixed income. I just don't get it. This is the best bang for the buck anywhere. Thank you Division 2 Sportsman racers and officials for doing what you do. I'll see you next month at Gainesville.......

It was a pleasure to meet these two. Harry Morgan's Escort E/FS reminds me so much of the Junior Stockers of the 1960's. Don't tell me class racing isn't affordable. It's all about taking a combination and getting the most out of it and I could tell these guys were enjoying every minute of it.
In the second photo, it's got to be hard for Harry to wait patiently like that on the starting line for his green light while Steve Foley's C/SA Firebird gets the head start advantage. That's Stock racing though. :-) Keep smilin' |
