Stock Q1 is in the books.
There is still some housekeeping to be done as far as cars in the wrong class and driver info not entered so these numbers are likely to change. So far, I've got 24 cars in the Factory Stock Showdown but that number is almost certainly higher. It might even be as many as 30 since a handful of new cars ran without their data entered. Chris Holbrook killed it in FS/XX with an 8.560 (9.90 index) but there is a good Ford-Chevy rivalry there since Clay Arnett is only a couple hundredths back with an 8.589. In FS/X, David Barton's Mopar lowered the boom with an 8.804 (10.15 index) I believe Barton is currently the low qualifier. I'll clean up some of these numbers once the cars clear the scales and the we get an official qualifying sheet. More later... |

Kevin, thanks for updating everyone! Yes, Roy Hill got the wheelie award for the session! I am just glad he was running a much slower car or it could of been ugly!!
We are tickled to death with our run! 1.07 under in B/SA! I think he got it fixed! 178 cars went down, with Steven Dzoriny getting shut off on the line. He later went down in front of the stands so maybe leaking something?? A few wrong indexes, so it will take a little while to get things up. More later |

Yes Kevin, thanks so much for pitching in. Here are some photos from the staging lanes while stock was running the first round qualifier. The weather for the first round was, well lets just say it was typical Indy.

Super Stock Q1 early report
Ray Skillman No. 1 21 Hemi Cars took the tree (might be one or two not on the sheet) Wolkwitz 8.554 Bucky 8.581 Hebert 8.589 P.B. Candies 7.957, 168.72. I know it's not the quickest Super Stock run but there is still something impressive about seeing a 7-second E.T. during a Super Stock session. Best pair/photo opportunity: Fred Henson's '68 Dart vs. Dallas Kelly's '64 Thunderbolt. Two incredible cars. |

It is a solid .12 to .16 slower than Bowling Green 92 grains water. Barometer is so low, a hurricane has more pressure than in Indy today. Track is a little tricky, but most made it down.

I bought a E/SA Camaro over the winter and understood the factory stock COPO s etc wouldn't screw up the eliminator any longer but looks like I'm wrong. What a crock if you want to spend 150,000.00 and up,or in many cases get it free, for a store bought killer factory stocker ,which by the way has 4 link rear, coil overs and need I go on. Now there are a lot of great stockers at Indy that will sit out eliminations because these cars eat up 30 and more of the 128 spots. Only good news you don't have to run them in class but that's as far as most will go this year. 1.3 under will they get HP or not?
