![]() Whip Wilson ![]() Sorry I couldn't stay for the awards "banquet" or for the completion of today's race. I took my wife in for gall bladder surgery Thursday morning. Her mom and aunt came down from Ohio to look after her, so after making sure she was all settled in the recovery room, she let me go with the stern admonition, "Go WIN!" Her family left yesterday morning, so she was left home alone with the dogs until I could get back. She's very sore and gets worn out easily, but is recovering. Fix-It List: Wife, ring & pinion, trans, and a flat right front (cut a tire every time I go to VMP!) ![]()

Mike, I thought the flat was your NC version of the "Denver boot"......on review, I could use some of your bad luck!
Congrats and thanks for allowing the yellow car to leak into a few of those great photos.

Yep, my Alex made it to the finals!!!! I thought for sure it was gonna be his day but not meant to be this time.....we are still thrilled with how well the cars performed this weekend. The motor in Moneymaker has been in for two seasons straight now and it's time to get freshened.
So much attrition this weekend and feeling very fortunate it avoided us. Our condolences to everyone who suffered - especially Jim Reynolds in that gorgeous Bel Air, picked a terrible time (semi finals) to blow the transmission. And thanks to some jerk who broke a bottle in the pits, his doberman got cut pretty badly. Shame on someone out there who broke it and didn't clean it up. Must have been a spectator because racers would never do that! It was great to see some good friends and make some new ones. I enjoyed meeting Whip Wilson and hearing some of his stories from younger days in the staging lanes - wow! This is the bestest sport in the world with the nicest people - everywhere we go! |
