The big problem is the standing water in the sportsman pit. The lake next to my trailer didnt soak in at all over night. With rain all day today i dont see how they are going to get the sportsman cars our of their trailers. They dont want to cancel the sportsman racng program becuase if we all try and leave it will drag mud through the pro pits. So looks like we are spectators for a few days.

Update 1:07PM, the rain has stop and the sun is trying to come out. They are starting to dry the track, but no schedule has been posted.
Anthony, I have not heard any talk about track seeping, I guess we wont know how good it is until we start racing. John, I don't think that's going to happen at an NHRA track. Jared, its cold an raining at home, I would rather be were its warm and raining, with a possible chance to race then be home. Looks like people are starting to bring their cars out, I will try to get some more pictures. Some of the pits spots are very muddy, its going to be tough to get some of the sportsman cars to the lanes. |

Here is what some of the sportsman pits look like. Even the comp pits are not spared from rain.
Frank Aragona has the right idea, who cares what color your boots are, dry is want counts. These three stockers have the right idea trying to stay out of the mud. Kurt Busch was out signing autographs even with the rain, there was always a crowd around his rig. His car is cool, excellent workmanship and detail. Schedule has been updated again. Comp will go out about 3:00 PM, followed the pro's, finishing up with pro mod and then alcohol. Stock, SS, SC and SG are not schedule to run today. |

Thanks for the pics,Ken .They bring back memories, for sure. Not necessarily good one ,though.
It makes us grateful for the fully paved pits out here @Vegas , Fontana, Pomona
